RULES AND REQUIREMENTS

 

AUDITION DATE:  Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 7:00 pm

FORMS DUE: Monday, April 5, 2010 at 12:00 pm noon

AUDITION LOCATION: Larsen 140 (Choir Room)

STANDARDS:

1.       The amount of the scholarship shall be $500.00 annually.

2.      Only music majors with applied concentration in voice are eligible.

3.      Incoming freshmen are ineligible.

4.     Vocal talent and demonstrated progress shall be the primary basis for awarding the scholarship.

5.      The chairman of the Department of Music, with assistance from the voice faculty, will select the winner.

6.      A person may receive the scholarship more than once.

7.      Eligible students must file a written application each year and sing an audition (if requested). The audition will be fifteen minutes in length and selections are to be chosen with the assistance of the student’s voice instructor.

8.      Four songs, one each in English, French, Italian and German, are required for the audition.

AUDITION RESULTS:

The recipient of the 2010 Hale-Wilder Voice Scholarship will be announced approximately one hour following the conclusion of the auditions. The scholarship will be presented at the annual Commencement Concert. Attendance is expected.
