Professor Martha Dalton, M.Mus.

Martha Dalton, a coloratura soprano, was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee.  She received her B.S. in Music from Trevecca Nazarene University in 1976.  She received a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1994 and a Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy from The Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University in 2004.  Performance opportunities at Miami University included the lead role in Puccini's Sour Angelica, and the role of Olympia in Offenbach's Tales of Hoffman with the Miami University Opera Theater.  At both institutions, hour-long recitals of art songs and arias were presented. 

Professor Dalton has been a member of the faculty at Olivet Nazarene University since 1996.  She is married to Dr. Ron Dalton, Professor of Practical Theology at ONU.  They have three sons, John, James and Stephen.  The Daltons reside in Bourbonnais, Illinois where she sings for church services, weddings, and civic organizations.  Professor Dalton is also the director of Chrysalis Women's Choir at Olivet Nazarene University.
